Worst Girl in America (2026)

Worst Girl in America leans back into the sound of Slayyyter's own adolescence, trading some of her most recent records' polish for something rawer and more personal. "Beat Up Chanels" carries that shift clearly, its hook built from the same turn-of-the-millennium pop instincts that first drew her to music, delivered with more bite than nostalgia. She has described the record as a last-ditch effort at making something she could be genuinely proud of, and that stakes-raising shows in the writing throughout. It became her highest-charting release, suggesting the more personal approach paid off commercially as well as artistically.

Worst Girl in America · 2026

Slayyyter began releasing hyperpop-adjacent bedroom-pop singles online in the late 2010s, building an audience through mixtapes before pursuit of a fuller pop sound took hold across a string of increasingly polished releases. Her music leans on hooks pulled from turn-of-the-millennium chart pop, filtered through a deliberately maximalist, internet-native production style.

Her self-titled debut mixtape arrived in 2019, followed by Troubled Paradise in 2021, each record pushing her sound a little further toward glossier, more conventional pop production. Worst Girl in America, her third album, arrived in 2026, and she has described it as a deliberate return to the sound of her own teenage years after those more polished releases. It became her highest-charting release to date, arriving after years of steadily building an audience through independent releases rather than a single breakout moment. Slayyyter's catalog has continued to track a fairly direct line between bedroom-pop experimentation and pop stardom, without ever fully arriving at either extreme.
