WORRY. (2016)

WORRY. crams ska-inflected horns, pop-punk hooks, and restless political anger into a single sprawling, constantly shifting record. "Festival Song" turns a specific frustration into a wider anthem, Jeff Rosenstock's voice straining at the edges the way it has since his days fronting The Arrogant Sons of Bitches and later giving albums away for free as Bomb the Music Industry! The songs rarely sit still, veering between genres within a single track without ever losing thread. It's the clearest single document of a songwriter whose restlessness has defined three overlapping projects across two decades.

WORRY. · 2016

Jeff Rosenstock's career runs through three distinct but continuous projects, all built on the same DIY, community-minded ethos. He first emerged fronting the Long Island ska-punk band The Arrogant Sons of Bitches in the mid-1990s, and when that band split, he continued alone as Bomb the Music Industry!, a project defined as much by its business model as its music — albums given away for free or donation-based, backing bands assembled from whoever showed up, shows booked wherever a room could be found. Bomb the Music Industry! wound down in 2014, and Rosenstock has recorded under his own name since.

WORRY. (2016) is widely regarded as the high point of that solo run, a record that folds pop-punk immediacy, ska-inflected horns, and pointed, restless political and personal songwriting into a single sprawling statement. Across all three phases of his career, Rosenstock has maintained a reputation for restless prolificacy and a genuine commitment to punk's DIY ideals that predates and outlasts most of his peers' engagement with the same ideas.
